1; Shag bird at fancy dress party.
2; 18 months on or so - meet wife (not proposed at this point).
3; Couple or 3 months later, go to mate's wedding(they get divorced a couple of years later- he was shagging a part-time copper), bird from fancy dress party is there as a bridesmaid. Say nothing to my girlfriend (who will eventually become Mrs RC )
4 ;Fast forward 2 years - get married.
5; Present day - tell wife about bridesmaid (thought I'd told her already. I hadn't).
Can't see how I'm getting in trouble here. I'm blame-free shirley? Cow.

Blame-free, yes. Utterly stupid for raising it as a topic of conversation, undoubtedly.

Had a really bad argument with the wife tonight, along the lines of her being absolutely no fun at the moment. It started with me suggesting we take the twins to Center Parcs for the forthcoming birthdays (which, by a staggering coincidence, is on the same day), but her immediate answer was "but we've already said we're going to go to Alton Towers Water Park at Easter". No, I don't see the logic either - there must be some unwritten rule somewhere that states if you go to a Country Park with a swimming feature in the middle of March, you're not allowed to go to a crappy Amusement Park with a swimming feature three weeks later. Anyway, this developed into the usual crappiness where she trots out a list of things I've said over the last 27 years about which I cannot defend myself as I can barely remember what I said this morning.
Then came the usual crap about us not talking much any more, which I have repeatedly explained to her is because she only has one topic of conversation (work) which I find very, very boring.
But of course everything's my fault. Because I'm a bloke.
FFS. I hate women.

Experience tells me that once you've f*cked 'em, you've pretty much peaked. Common sense suggest that what with all these other blokes getting married and sh!t, there must be more to it than that. Yet second brain argues that people are stupid. I don't know. If I ever get married I'll tell you if it was wise or not.

You're not very observant, it was like that all last week. Presume it's during February for Valentine's Day.
Despite working at Waterloo I can't recall actually seeing it since last Monday. But then I suppose that's kind of your point. Thanks anyway sarcy

Looking back at some old stuff, I'd completely forgotten that when we beat Oldham in the 1990 League Cup Final, they were about tenth in the (old) second division. I'd assumed it was the top flight Oldham of Mike Milligan/Andy Ritchie/Graeme Sharp/Ian Marshall et al.
Should have tonked 'em. Clough out!
