Is that true? Made me chuckle.

Yes.
Not quite ex, but young Brendan came off the bench for Scunny tonight with 20 minutes left. Scunny kept a clean sheet and scored their second within 10 minutes. Coincidence? One thinks not.

Just watched the Johnno interview on Forest Player (only a couple of months late).
Good to see the old boy's still concluding each sentance with the phrase "y'know".

Grr, was just reading through the thread to make sure it hadn't been posted already before posting the same, but got distracted by talk of how ugly Grant Holt is. Very underwhelmed by this. We currently have three wingers sitting on the bench and none on the pitch, including a left winger who is still among the top assist-makers in the division despite being dropped for the last two months. The manager keeps banging on about the wide players not working hard enough, though how Davies is going to address this situation is anyone's guess. He makes our current lot look like Carlos Tevez.

Still, not bad business. Sell him for best part of a million, get him back for nothing.

Except that you know most of the money was for Cohen, and you ain't having him back for anything.

I thought I read on here but maybe not that the joint deal was very favourable to Yeovil in that most of the cash is shown as being for Davies. I assume they have a clause giving them a % of any future sale and if Cohen's transfer was low their % on profit is higher.

That may have been the deal, but we wouldn't have paid what we did for dear Arron on his own.

I think it was more to do with the fact that they didn't want to pay a sell-on fee to West Ham.

Exactly. We structured the deal to be as favourable as possible for the Carrot Crunchers, so officially Davies was the big money and Cohen the makeweight - but even at the time that wasn't how the balance was in reality, and everyone knew it.
