I doubt the offer was £2m. There may have come a point when it was worth £2m, perhaps. Personally if it was £2m then I'm very much in the sell camp.

Really? And what would you hav done with the £2M that we were otherwise unable to do?

I'd be questioning the sanity of the transfer committee if we bought James Perch for £2M. Having said that we'd be mental to sell Perch for any price when we are so short of defenders as it is.

Panic measure or a further example of our rivals out-performing us in the transfer/loan market?

Based on the (televised) game I saw Nouble playing for West Ham, I wouldn't be terribly impressed if he was coming to play for us, so fingers crossed, he's crap.

I'd be more worried if they had Ishmael Miller fit and firing. His loss can only be good news.

Nouble looks like he's going to be a good player.  I wouldn't want to be pinning my hopes on his goals getting us up this season though.  Does GLOWG work in this situation?  The b@stard if going to score 10 goals in the next 8 games isn't he?

Apparantly WMD has said that loans are not an option. Martha is saying that's up to him but he'd be allowed to if he wants. Anyone* want to bet that we won't see a new loan player before the end of the season?

Aunty Beeb. It was a question put to Martha, and he confirmed the situation or at least clarified the clubs position. I imagine if the Billies hadn't said it, he'd have said something about not having heard his comments.

Am I the only one who is already fed up with our so-called leaders conducting their wrangling via the media?  Someone should lock them in a room and tell them they're not coming out until they learn to behave like adults...

I'm fed up of hearing MA trot out the "sorry but we tried" line yet again. Billy putting an alternate POV is a refreshing change IMO.

I have absolutely no objection to them having a full and frank exchange of views - indeed, with Martha's recent tranfer performance I'd be positively encouraging it.  But I wish they'd have a full-on row in the boardroom and have done with it, rather than running to the papers / radio to point, hold their noses and giggle like a couple of five-year-olds.

I would qualify this with the fact that although Davies claims to have given the board a list of players he wanted us to go after, we don't actually know who those players were. If they were Ashley Cole, Bacary Sagna and Wayne Bridge then Davies is being ever so slightly disingenuous; I know it's a popular activity to go after the board, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're entirely at fault.
