Since the old thread has been decleared dead, I thought I'd try a new one.

Gunter: Is the spotty little oik coming or not? If he was so damned keen on the move why isn't he here already? I'm beginning to doubt his sincerity.

I think it's dead. It would have happened by now no? Probably not his fault, I think he wanted to come, but there are bigger clubs paying better money interested now (based on heresay anyway). I half wonder wheter he's waiting to see what happens at Newcastle when the dust settles.... if it ever does.

PS: Talk about a Hollywood headline, it doesn't match the story at all !

I think West Brom are favourites to get Gunter now.

I was surprised to see Alan Mahon end up at Tranmere and not at another Chamionship side. He is only 31, would've thought he could still do a job at our level. H elooked like a real prospect when he left for Sporting (I think it was) although that was a few years ago...

I noticed that Duberry has moved to Wycombe, he will be 34 this year, probably not a bad signing for them; he's only made 280 league starts in his career, so he's hardly worn out.

First mention of a McKenna bid in this thread. I've no idea whether this 'new' bid is new, or whether it's just rehashing an old story.

Shouldn't this thread be called "let the transfer discussions continue"?

Anyway, NEP mentions Fox and Gunter and Davies confirms interest in Majewski. I've also read that Spurs have bid for Kyle Naughton who, I think, is a right-back, which would move Gunter (even) further down the pecking order.

Good point. It's Everton and Spurs that are after him, and I'd thought he would be better going to Everton career and development wise, however I've now suddenly changed my mind and think that lovely North London would be the ideal destination for this exciting young English RB....... thus allowing them to loan Gunter to us.

Think there's at least one in Warsaw.

Not sure whether this thread is dead now, too.

Just in case it isn't, a not very exciting Blackstock story.

This just confirms the previous position, QPR don't seem to want to offer him a new contract (at the income level he wants) and they won't want him to go on a free at the end of the season. So the odds are he will be sold shortly (hopefully to us).
Just heard that Sky Andrews (football agent) on the radio who was saying that apart from the top end Champions League clubs there is very little money about, because income levels are dropping and the banks are trying to reduce their level of exposure. So if as seems to be the case, we do have money to spend, it puts us in a strong negotiating position.

Quite...that doesn't actually say he WANTS to stay...he just says that unless something changes he'll still be at QPR. Well, duh! I don't think its set in stone that he's there to stay...but I'd be surprised to see us go after him, unless BD decides to cash in on Tyson, which would leave us a little low on numbers up top.

cnut (look it up on Google, jp).

In other news, Adebayor may be Man City bound. Seriously - WTF? They've already got Tevez and Santa Cruz, they should really be looking at other areas of their team.  If they keep going like this they'll make the first few months under Roman at Chelsea appear prudent...!

They are trying to sign Terry and Lescott as well, and they've signed Barry, so I don't think you can accuse them of neglecting any area.

You can't criticise them too much for trying to achieve things quickly, after all it'll only be 3 or 4 years before Notts are hoovering up all the trophies, then where will they be?

Not to mention Robinho, Craig Bellamy, Caciedo and Bojinov too...that's before you get to Ched Evans!
